Ilok is CLDT's starting or ending point, depending if you're going soBo or noBo. This section is 567 km long and it passes through cities of Vukovar, Osijek, Beli Manastir and Našice. It also passes Papuk, Bilogora and Kalnik mountains. This section offers many gastronomical wonders, natural landmarks and memorial locations.

Section B passes Strahinčica & Ivančica mountains and on it's way to Medvednica mountain descends through many villages of Hrvatsko Zagorje. On Medvednica trail connects to M1 (Medvednica's main and longest marked trail) and hikers follow Medvednica's ridge until reaching Podsused. You need not worry about trail magic on this section because city of Zagreb houses headquarters of association Udruga Long Distance Trail Hrvatska, whose members occasionally welcome thru hikers 🙂 Afterwards trail continues on Žumberak, Gorski Kotar and Klana, where CLDT enters Istria. Following Istrian mountain route CLDT reaches Savudrija - Croatia's westernmost point.

Tameness of Istria in this section will spoil hikers a bit but then mountain beauties and hard efforts, for already strengthened legs, start. In this section hikers will walk almost 1000 km! Istria, North Velebit, South Velebit, Dinara, Kozjak, Svilaja, Mosor, Biokovo - these are all guaranties that this section will be extremely attractive to the eye.
